Eastern Warbling Vireo photographed at Collinsville, CT
Hopped quietly along leafy branches high in the trees, stopping on an open perch to hunt for insects. Unlike twitchy, hyperactive warblers, vireos take their time and search leaves at a much calmer pace. They spend the summer nesting in New England near rivers and lakes before flying south for the winter.
